Sheerness Residency
ARCA residency with the Sheerness Dockyard Trust on the Isle of Sheppey. The work explored the geology of the island through the exploration of clay and fossils, casting and molding. Clay was collected from Warden Point, a rapidly eroding part of the north shoreline and fired as well as taking casts of the fissured clay to create molds to generate contemporary fossils. Through exploring ideas of Paleoecology a deeper understanding of the geology, the rapid erosion of Sheppey and a reading of ‘deep time’ evolve.
